That Google search bar auto-fills based on popular searches (accounting for a lot of different factors, like locality), so you can easily tap into powerful keywords with minimal research. A handy trick here is the alphabet game: Type in a word, then type every letter, in turn, to see what autofill has to say. For example “joist a” brings up options for a joist app, “joist b” has keywords for block and brackets, “joist c” is all about calculators and contractors, and so on. Finish the alphabet and you’ll have a handy list of phrases to use by the end. It’s easy, free, and doesn’t require any mental effort – truly a winning solution!

There are Plenty of Free Online Tools You Can Pick

Maybe the idea of using autofill also sounds exhausting – after all, you have to type out all 26 letters! This is why many content creators turn to the free tools available that make the whole process a little faster. You don’t always get the full alphabet breakdown with these tools, but you do get a lot of instant suggestions for new keywords based on popular old keywords that you’ve used in the past. LSI Is Real and More Useful Every Day

In this particular case, LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing, which is an intimidating phrase for a simple idea. Basically, this refers to using the latest smart algorithms from Google and other search engines which account for not only your keywords, but other words that searchers type when they want to find similar things (often words that don’t have any direct semantic connection to each other, like “glass” and “window”). This makes it easier to search in more natural language, but also allows you to extend your keyword search to other, tangential phrases. Your Competitors Are a Great Source of Keywords

Let your competitors do keyword work for you! Take a look at a well-done competitor content page on related products and see if you can pick out the keywords. One of the easiest ways to do this is to pop up the View Source option and take a look at the HTML. This allows you to find the description and keyword tags that your competitors are using. You Can Judge Impressions Before Choosing a Keyword

We’re going to go to the opposite extreme from our first point for this one: If you really want to research keywords in a deep, meaningful way to find the best phrases, you can spend a lot of time on it. The most effective method is heading over to Google Adwords and creating sample campaigns, which will track the number of exact impressions a keyword will give you.
